The "don't buy gas day" has been decided - SEPTEMBER 10, 2005.

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT

PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE

OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OFOVER 4.6 BILLION

DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

THEREFORE Sept 10TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT TO THEM DAY"AND THE PEOPLE

OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.

THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN

AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THIS ADMINISTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO

HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS

PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME

AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE

THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD,

CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC.

WHO PAYS IN THE END?

WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY,

WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.

SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD.

I saw this a lot after 9/11 and when there was the "gas crisis" then. I must say, I've never really understood this... because if you don't buy gas on that specific day... you're going to have to buy it the day before or the day after, in which they still get your money. So...I really don't see how this can actually "lower" prices or "show them" that they need our money or whatever... they'll just get it another day after the 10th.

Just my 2 pennies... :)

That's the same thing I thought, but then I thought this wouldn't hurt. Perhaps it is the action speaking that will bring the change.

I had the same thought as Kristy, actually, but then I thought, since the tenth is a Saturday, why not just not even USE the car? Maybe take that little side trip on the way home from work to stock up for the weekend, don't drive to...wherever other people than me drive to for weekends...stay at hoem and dust off the fancy juice glasses and the board games...things like that. Make it "Don't buy gas AND stay home as a family!" day!!

:)

My 1 1/2 cents... :)
